Schematophora
From Williams et al., 2017:
[Schematophora, Deflandre and Cookson, 1955, p. 262
This name was not validly published in Deflandre and Cookson (1954, p.1237), since no description was provided.
Type species: Schematophora speciosa, Deflandre and Cookson, 1955 (pl.6, figs.11–12)]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Deflandre and Cookson, 1955]:
Description:
Shell globular, the surface marked into relatively widely spaced polygonal or rounded areas; outlines of the fields delimited by wing-like ridges which become thinner distally. Fields about 15-18 in number; several fields smaller than the others are grouped in a particular region.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Modified description:
Stover and Evitt, 1978, p. 79-80:
Synopsis:
Cysts proximochorate, subspherical, gonyaulacacean; paratabulation indicated by normally complete, occasionally incomplete, penitabular ridges; paracingulum lacks ridges; archeopyle apical, Type (tA).
Description:
Shape: Subspherical.
Wall relationships: Autophragm only.
Wall features: No parasutural features. Penitabular ridges smooth, faintly ornamented, occasionally perforate, their height nearly uniform, their crest smooth to denticulate; autophragm between ridges faintly ornamented.
Paratabulation: Indicated by complete and incomplete penitabular ridges; gonyaulacacean, formula: 0-1pr, 4`, 6``, Xc, 5-6```, 1p, 1````, 1-4s; when five postcingular paraplates are indicated, these are interpreted as corresponding to plates 2``` to 6```.
Archeopyle: Apical, Type (tA); principal archeopyle suture zigzag.
Paracingulum: Position indicated by absence of penitabular ridges.
Parasulcus: Vaguely delimited area with short, generally discontinuous ridges.
Size: Intermediate.
Affinities:
Schematophora differs from Alisocysta in not having penitabular ridges in the paracingular area. It differs from Hemiplacophora in having mostly complete penitabular ridges, whereas those on Hemiplacophora are incomplete.

Schematophora Deflandre and Cookson, 1955. Synopsis according to Stover and Evitt (1978), cysts proximochorate, subspherical, gonyaulacacean; paratabulation indicated by normally complete, occasionally incomplete, penitabular ridges; paracingulum lacks ridges; archeopyle apical, type [tA].
