Impletosphaeridium

From Fensome et al., 2019:

[Impletosphaeridium, Morgenroth, 1966a, p.32.
Emendation: Islam, 1993, p.84–85.
Taxonomic junior synonyms: Ciliosphaeridium, according to Stover and Evitt (1978, p.232–233); Laticavodinium, by implication in Islam (1993, p.86), who questionably transferred the "type species", Laticavodinium oligacanthum, to Impletosphaeridium and by Masure in Fauconnier and Masure (2004, p.337). This genus was considered problematic by Masure in Fauconnier and Masure (2004, p.337).
Type: Morgenroth, 1966a, pl.10, fig.5, as Impletosphaeridium transfodum.

Original description: [Morgenroth, 1966]: (Translation: LPP):

Description:
Hystrichosphaerids with round, sometimes ellipsoidal, smooth or weakly granulated capsule, which is covered by nearly similar, massive processes. The processes can be distally simply pointed, goblet-shaped widened or variously furcated. The structureless processes sometimes consist of small holes.

Emended description:

Islam, 1993:

Diagnosis:
Spherical to subspherical and ellipsoidal, skolochorate dinoflagellate cysts, mono or biphragmal, phragma weakly granulate or psilate, possessing numerous nontabular solid processes that are slender, round in cross section or platy, basally slightly broader, distally simple, acuminate, or variously expanded such as in calyxes or spatula, or branched or otherwise ramified, but are largely similar on individual specimens; archeopyle apical, type tA or (tA), operculum free or adanate; other tabular features absent but groups of processes, or their alignment may indicate a partial tabulation including cingulum and sulcus.

Impletosphaeridium Morgenroth, 1966a, emend. Islam, 1993. According to Islam (1993, p.84), Impletosphaeridium is a spherical to subspherical and ellipsoidal, skolochorate dinoflagellate cyst, mono- or biphragmal, phragma weakly granulate or psilate, possessing numerous nontabular solid processes that are slender, round in cross-section or platy, basally slightly broader, distally simple, acuminate, or variously expanded such as in calyxes or spatula, or branched or otherwise ramified, but are largely similar on individual specimens, archeopyle apical type tA or (tA), operculum free or adnate; other tabular features absent but groups of processes, or their alignment may indicate partial tabulation including cingulum and sulcus. According to Islam (1993, p.85), the paratype of the "type species" has an apical archeopyle.
