Indosphaera
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Indosphaera, Kumar, 1986b, p.391.
Type: Kumar, 1986b, pl.3, fig.5, as Indosphaera bhujensis.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Kumar, 1986]:
Diagnosis:
Cyst proximate, elongate, pentagonal, ovoidal or subsphaerical in outline.
Paratabulation features are essentially lacking, but sometimes faintly marked, irregular and small ridges develop on the autophragm indicating the presence of a paracingulum. No evidence of archaeopyle present. A prominent apical horn is always present, and two short antapical protrusions may or may not be present.
Affinities:
Indosphaera differs from Subtilisphaera, Geiselodinium and Tanaridinium in being proximate rather than cavate. It also differs from Saeptodinium in not having a discernible archaeopyle rather than having a well developed combination type archaeopyle.
