Diagnosis:
Subelliptical to subtriangular cornucavate peridinioid dinocysts characterized by a combination archeopyle, which when fully developed, is of the IPa type. The 2a paraplate may be partially or completely detached; the 4" paraplate is adnate adcingularly, though the 3"/4" and 4"/5" parasutures may be open. The intercalary 2a paraplate is eight-sided.
