From Fensome et al., 2019:
Thuledinium Pocock and Sarjeant, 1972, p.352. Taxonomic senior synonym: Mendicodinium, according to Davey (1979c, p.64). Pocock and Sarjeant (1972, p.352) considered Thuledinium to be an acritarch.
Type: Pocock and Sarjeant, 1972, pl.2, fig.1; text-fig.2, as Thuledinium groenlandicum.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Pocock and Sarjeant, 1972]:
Diagnosis:
Vesicle ovoidal to almost ellipsoidal, dividing into four sections: a small apical cap, two elongate and much larger sections (together comprising the main body), and an antapical cap comparable in size to, or slightly smaller than, the apical cap. Wall apparently single-layered, with or without surface ornament, but consistently without processes or other outgrowths.
