Fentonia

From Williams et al., 2017:

[Fentonia, Bailey and Hogg, 1995, p. 58
Acritarch genus.

Tax. sr. syn.: Limbicysta (Appendix A), according to MacRae et al. (1996, p.1479). Nomenclatural junior synonym: Neofentonia (Appendix A). Ă–zdikmen (2009, p.234) considered Fentonia Bailey and Hogg, 1995 to be illegitimate because it is a junior homonym of Fentonia Butler 1881; however, Fentonia Butler 1881 is an animal and under the I.C.N. it does not pre-empt Fentonia Bailey and Hogg.

Type species: as Parvocysta bjaerkei, Smelror, 1987 (fig.4G)] ; Fentonia bjaerkei, emend. Bailey and Hogg, 1995
