Description:
Elongate, narrowly ellipsoidal to slightly crescent-shaped organic walled microfossils having a narrowly rounded, closed end and an open end; margin of opening ragged. Single wall layer thin (1µm or less), smooth, wrinkled, or faintly ornamented; with 2 or more prominent longitudinal folds.
Affinities:
Similar netromorphic genera are Navifusa Combaz, Lange & Pansart 1967 and Densitites Hemer & Nygreen 1967, which are narrowly ellipsoidal to crescent-shaped and are closed at both ends. Wuroia differs from these genera in having one end open. Quisquilites Wilson & Urban 1963 is similar in shape to Wuroia but has a multilayered rather than a single layered wall. There is also a marked stratigraphic disparity between the occurrence of Wuroia in the Middle Jurassic and that of the other, Ordovician to Lower Carboniferous genera.
