Novedwardsiella
From Williams et al., 2017:
[Novedwardsiella, Özdikmen, 2009, p. 234.
Edwardsiella: Versteegh and Zevenboom, 1995, p. 217-218
Name illegitimate — nomenclatural senior synonym: Edwardsiella Versteegh and Zevenboom 1995. Özdikmen (2009) considered Edwardsiella Versteegh and Zevenboom to be illegitimate because it is a junior homonym of Edwardsiella Andres, 1883; however, Edwardsiella Andres is an animal and under the I.C.N. does not pre-empt Edwardsiella Versteegh and Zevenboom.
Type species: Edwardsiella sexispinosa, Versteegh, 1995 (pl.2, figs.1,4)]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description Edwardsiella: [Versteegh and Zevenboom, 1995]:
Diagnosis:
Gonyaulacoid dinoflagellate cysts with gonal processes. The processes consist of three membraneous lists which are connected basally over their total length. For at least the upper half of the processes, the width of these membraneous lists (and thus the process diameter) is either constant or decreases slightly. At the distal ends of the processes, the membraneous lists are still present, giving the processes a truncated appearance. In case plate margins are indicated by septa, the process wings form a continuation of these septa.
