Deltiella
Etymology. Named for the deltaform shape of the 2a paraplate.
Type. Williams and Fensome, herein, Plate 1, figure 10, as Deltiella punctata.
Diagnosis. A deflandreoid cyst with a pericyst outline tending to mimic that of Chatangiella but commonly lacking the pericystal shoulders. Endocyst large, filling most of the pericyst laterally. Antapical horns of pericyst usually subdued with the left being the longer. Pericingulum partite, defined by ridges or other ornamentation. Periarchaeopyle, which is formed from the complete or partial loss of the 2a paraplate, is deltaform to thetaform – most commonly isodeltaform, less frequently steno- or latideltaform, or steno- or latithetaform. Endoarchaeopyle variable, involving one to three anterior intercalary paraplates.
