Elimatia spinosa (Alberti, 1961) comb. nov. Pareodinia spinosa Alberti, 1961, p.24, pl.4, fig.16.
Holotype: Alberti, 1961, pl.4, fig.16. Originally Pareodinia spinosa, subsequently Apteodinium? spinosum (combination illegitimate), thirdly Apteodinium? albertii, fourthly Elimatia albertii (name illegitimate), fifthly (and now) Elimatia spinosa.
Age: late Barremian.

Original description (Alberti, 1961) (translated from German):

Pareodinia spinosa n. sp.

Holotype: The specimen preserved in specimen No. A 22 and shown in Plate 4 Fig. 16.
Locus typicus: Haverlah meadow.
Stratum typicalum: Upper Barrême.
Diagnosis: Carapace approximately ovoid, flattened. Epitheca slightly smaller than the hypotheca and
extended into a short, cusp-like, apical process. The carapace surface is covered with very small, dome-like processes.
Notes: The carapace membrane is rough. The domes on its surface are approximately 1.5 μm to 2 μm long, and their bases are slightly broadened.
The genus Pareodinia Deflandre must be expanded to include species that bear domes on their carapace.
Holotype dimensions: Length 85 μm, width 65 μm.
Material: 3 specimens.
Occurrence: Oberbarrême of Haverlahwiese.
