Circulodinium hughesii
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Circulodinium hughesii (Clarke and Verdier, 1967, p.21–22, pl.2, fig.6; text-fig.8) Fensome et al., 2019a, p.38. Holotype: Clarke and Verdier, 1967, pl.2, fig.6; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.18, figs.7–8; Fensome et al., 2019a, fig.15F. Originally Cyclonephelium, subsequently (and now) Circulodinium?. Questionable assignment: Fensome et al. (2019a, p.38). Age: Cenomanian–early Turonian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original diagnosis: Clarke and Verdier, 1967, p.22
A species of Cyclonephelium with broad, short processes.
Progonal; description: Clarke and Verdier, 1967, p.22
Main body more or less rounded and showing a distinctly indented apical archaeopyle. Nearly all specimens are found with their apical part detached. Unornamented areas dorsally and ventrally are clearly observable although these vary in areal extent from one specimen to another. Sculpture consists of broad short appandages, closely spaced and with the distal part slightly expanded and indented.
Dimensions: Range - overall length 66-110 µm, overall breadth 60-102 µm, length of processes 7-12 µm.
