Susadinium faustum

From Fensome et al., 2019:
Susadinium faustum (Bjaerke, 1980, p.69, pl.2, figs.1–6; text-figs.4A–D) Lentin and Williams, 1985, p.344. Emendation: Below, 1987a, p.136–137, as Reutlingia fausta. Holotype: Bjaerke, 1980, pl.2, figs.1–3; Fensome et al., 1993a, figs.1–3 — p.1175. Originally Facetodinium, subsequently (and now) Susadinium, thirdly Reutlingia. Lentin and Williams (1989, p.358) retained this species in Susadinium. Age: Toarcian.

Original diagnosis: Bjaerke, 1980, p. 69: Facetodinium faustum
Dinoflagellate cyst of the genus Facetodinium with subcircular to rounded pentagonal outline, dorso-ventrally flattened. Authophragm bearing dense intratabular ornamentation of 2 - 3 µm long baculate processes except for paraplate 1'''' which is smooth. Along parasutures a narrow zone without ornamentation. Intratabular ornamentation developed on low pillow-like inflations. Epicyst and hypocyst seperated by a relatively broad and shallow paracingular depression. Parasulcus indicated by reduction or absence of ornamentation, extending onto epicyst and widening towards the antapex. Antapex probably formed by the mid-dorsal intercalary paraplate with hexagonal outline (geniculate).
Size: 28-35 µm long, 18-31 µm.

Original description: Bjaerke, 1980, p. 69: Facetodinium faustum
Small dinoflagellate cysts with a subcircular to rounded pentagonal outline in dorso-ventral view, dorso-ventrally flattened. Cyst-wall single layered, ornamented with short baculate processes, 2 -3 µm long, except for paraplate 1'''' which is smooth. Intratabular ornamentation developed on low pillow-like inflations. A narrow pandasutural zone without ornamentation is characteristic. Parasutures faintly indicated by low parasutural ridges. Archaeopyle probably formed by one mid-dorsal intercalary paraplate, outline hexagonal with anterior and posterior angulations (geniculate). This paraplate is clearly distinguished in most specimens ans in some specimens observed to be slightly distorted. Paracingulum marked by a broad and shallow depression with reduced ornamentation. Parasulcus wide, extending onto hypocyst, widening towards antapex. Ornamentation in parasulcal area reduced or absent.
