Originally Trigonopyxis (generic name illegitimate), subsequently (and now) Trigonopyxidia.

Locus typicus: North of Gingin, Perth Basin, Western Australia
Stratum typicum: ?Upper Albian to Cenomanian

Original description: Cookson and Eisenack, 1960, p. 11: Trigonopyxis ginella
Shell triangular, with straight to concave sides and rounded angles. Capsule almost circular to broadly triangular. Shell membrane and wall of capsule smooth.
Dimensions: Holotype: shell about 50 µm; capsule about 30 µm. Range: shell 50-66 µm; capsule 30-43 µm.
