Original description: Backhouse, 1987, p. 221
Cysts elongate ovoidal, angular in outline, with a preferred dorsoventral orientation.
Endophragm thin, less than 0. 5µm thick and ovoidal. Membranous periphragm appressed to the endophragm except at the apical horn and the antapex. A well-developed antapical pericoel in the shape of a truncated cubic cone open antapically. Apically periphragm drawn into a short, distally open, tubular apical horn of variable length; maximum length 1µm. Paratabulation incompletely expressed by narrow septa on the periphragm, which in SEM are seen to be about 4µm high with sparse perforations and ragged non-spinose distal edges. Paratabulation developed in the dorsal and cingular areas and ventroapically, with the elongated 1" paraplate clearly delineated. Parasulcus poorly defined. Well-defined paracingulum bearing only 2 cross septa, one on each side on the ventral surface. Paraplates of the postcingular series extending to the antapical margin and the antapical opening appearing to be formed by absence of the antapical paraplate. On at least one specimen (Fig.13D) the antapical opening appearing to consist of 3 separate holes. Observed paratabulation formula ?4", 1a, 6"", Xc, 5""", 1"""". Archeopyle precingular, type P; operculum free. Parasutural septum between the archeopyle and the paracingulum not developed (Fig .1 4D).
Dimensions:
Length of holotype 93 µm. Range of length (16 specimens) 79(89)98 µm, width 50(58)68 µm.

Affinities:
Backhouse, 1987, p. 221-222: Tubotuberella vlamingii differs from T. uncinatum and T. sphaerocephalus by possessing non-spinose parasutural septa. Tubotuberella vlamingii is similar in general appearance to T. dangeradii but the former is slightly larger, more elongate and its ventral paratabulation is less complete than in the latter.
