Duosphaeridium nudum (Cookson, 1965) Loeblich Jr. and Loeblich III, 1968

Originally Diphyes, subsequently (and now) Duosphaeridium.
This combination was not validly published by Davey and Williams, 1966, since these authors did not fully reference the basionym.

Stratum typicum: Late Eocene

Original description: Cookson, 1965, p.87: Diphyes nudum
Both parts of the shell without appandages. Anterior portion slightly larger than posterior portion, almost sphaerical with large apical archaeopyle. Wall c. 2 Ám thick, smooth in profile, faintly dotted to finely granular in surface view.
Posterior portion slightly smaller than the anterior portion with convex sides and a slight apical prominence with a small opening; wall c. 1 Ám thick, smooth in profile, faintly dotted or finely granular in surface view the granules when developed being arranged in regular longitudinal rows as in D. colligerum.
Dimensions: Holotype - overall length 55 Ám, anterior part 35 Ám wide, posterior part 32 Ám wide. Range - overall length 47-65 Ám, width of anterior part 31-42 Ám, width of posterior part 26-36 Ám.
