Achomosphaera bulla
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Achomosphaera bulla, Cookson and Eisenack, 1974, p.55, pl.23, fig.13.
Holotype: Cookson and Eisenack, 1974, pl.23, fig.13. NIA.
Age: Paleocene.
Locus typicus: Rivernook, Victoria, Australia
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Cookson and Eisenack, 1974, p.55] (Translation: LPP):
Diagnosis:
Shell circular, thick-walled, densely covered with fine granulae.
Processes relatively short, length and shape variable, widened at the base, solid, ends +/- furcate or widened funnel-shaped. Apical protrusion wide, flattened, ending in two diverging processes. An equivalent but less wide protrusion located at the antapex, slightly displaced to the left. Archeopyle trapezoid.
Dimensions:
Shell c. 72-70 µm, overall c. 105x105 µm, processes c. 14-26 µm, archaeopyle c. 30 µm high and c. 33 µm wide.
