NOW Cordosphaeridium?.
Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Achomosphaera, thirdly Lanternosphaeridium, fourthly (and now) Cordosphaeridium?, fifthly Spiniferites. This combination was not validly published in Davey and Williams (1966b, p.104), since these authors did not fully reference the basionym. NIA.
Age: Early Cretaceous.

Locus typicus: Roedersdorf near Berlin, Germany
Stratum typicum: ?Aptian

Description:
Central shell oval, covered with few, thin and delicate processes, arising from wide bases, clearly bifurcate (Y-shaped) or trifurcate, may be joined by ridges. Pylomes frequent.

Dimensions:
Holotype: Shell 83:70 µm, overall 146:138 µm.
Other specimens: Shell 54:50 - 94:70 µm, overall 92:82 - 146:138 µm.
