Holotype: Cookson and Eisenack, 1970, pl.13, fig.1
Paratype: Cookson and Eisenack, 1970
Locus typicus: Madura No. 1 Bore, Eucla Basin, Western Australia
Stratum typicum: Senonian

Main characters are those of the genotype, A. aphroditae Cookson and Eisenack 1960 from the Turonian, Lower Gearle Siltstone, Western Australia, at 2500-2514 ft. The only difference shown by the Madura specimens is the presence of a few, relatively large, evenly-spaced appendages with simple or slightly forked apices, which arise from a circular area about half-way from the center of the body of the shell and also from the surface of the wing. A longitudinal furrow is present in the paratype.
Dimensions:
Holotype: Diameter of shell c. 75 µm, overall diameter c. 125 µm.
Range of five specimens: Diameter of shell c. 48-77 µm, overall diameter c. 88-125 µm. Length of appendages c. 7-30 µm.
