Adnatosphaeridium williereae
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Adnatosphaeridium? williereae, de Coninck, 1975, p.49, pl.2, figs.9–11.
Holotype: de Coninck, 1975, pl.2, figs.10–11; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.1, fig.5.
Questionable assignment: de Coninck (1975, p.49).
Age: Ypresian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description (De Coninck, 1975) Not yet translated from French
Diagnosis: A relatively small, globular body bears numerous flattened and smooth processes which may branch out at about half their height. Towards their distal end the processes flare out and dilate into a few shreds whose corners elongate into a thread. Distal threads connect processes together. Body dimensions: approximately 20 μm. Process height: approximately 10 μm. Total span: approximately 40 μm. Notes: Process end development is variable. Some individuals present membranous flaps that are more or less perforated and connected together, almost without the intermediary of wires. Others, on the other hand, have processes which barely flare and which are linked together by threads which divide in turn. I did not observe any archaeopyle. The shape of the processes and the general appearance, as well as the small dimensions of the organisms, make me doubt their attribution to the genus Adnatosphaeridium. Stratigraphic occurrence: A.? willieriae was only found in Kallo above the Sands of Mons-en-Pévèle, in the Merelbeke Clay, base of the Paniselian.
