Original description as Evansia erregulensis: [Filatoff, 1975, p. 90]:

Description:
Vesicle consists of a subcircular body with a prominent, broad apical horn. Wall possibly two-layered as the body is thicker (c. 1 µm) and darker than the horn (0.5 µm).
No archaeopyle or tabulation is discernible.
Sculpture finely granulate.

Dimensions:
Diameter of body: 31(33)36 µm. Length of horn: 19(21)22 µm. Breadth of horn: 17(19)22 µm.

Remarks:
Simple dinoflagellates with an apical horn have been described under the genera Evansia, Pareodinia DEFLANDRE, 1947, and Tenua EISENACK, 1958, but the present species has a broader apical horn than other species previously described in the genera.
