Apteodinium nuciforme, (Deflandre, 1938), Stover and Evitt, 1978
Now Cribroperidinium. Originally Palaeoperidinium, subsequently Gonyaulax, thirdly Gonyaulacysta, fourthly Apteodinium, fifthly Millioudodinium, sixthly (and now) Cribroperidinium. Tax. sr. synonym of Palaeoperidinium nuciformoides Gorka, 1965, according to Sarjeant, 1968.
Holotype: Deflandre, 1938b, pl.8, fig.6 and Jan du Chene et al., 1986, pl.11, figs.1-3.

Remarks:
The transfer of this species to Cribroperidinium by Courtinat (1989) is not followed here. This species has only faintly and inconsistently expressed parasulcal ridges. Cribroperidinium has well expressed parasulcal ridges and intercalary growth bands with numerous spines.
