Description:
Shell flat, oval to circular in outline, apex without a horn, antapex truncate with a short projection on one side, girdle usually indicated by slight indentations on both sides. Capsule oval to circular in outline. Shell membrane smooth except at the antapex, where it is usually distinctly serrated. The wall of the capsule is finely granular.

Dimensions:
Holotype: 63 µm long, 60 µm broad; capsule 45x46 µm.
Range 57-67 µm long, 40-60 µm broad.
