Bohaidina retirugosa
Bohaidina retirugosa, Jiabo, 1978; emend. Xu Jinli and Mao Shaozhi, 1989
Holotype: Jiabo, 1978, pl.9, fig.8
Age: Early Tertiary
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Supplemented description:
Xu Jinli and Mao Shaozhi, 1989: (Provisional translation by GSC: courtesy R. Fensome):
Description:
Cyst rhombic to fusiform in outline. 2-3 girdle projections well developed, one in dorsal side present or absent. Wall autophragm, its surface retirugosa with ruga formed by granules linked continuously and distributed uniformly, which give a reticulate impression and result in outline of fine-wavy.
Archeopyle combination of tAa+3Ia or tAa+3I type, opercula compound. Apical piece is attached to or partly torn away from the cyst, leaving its posterior edge almost straight or irregular.
Discussion:
A re-observation on the holotype (Jiabo, 1978, pl. 9, fig. 9) showed that there were three pieces of subcircular plates attached to the cyst in dorsal side, which are surely three intercalary series. The supplemented specimens also show distinct archeopyle of tAa+3Ia or tAa+3I type. This species differ from both B. microreticulata and B. alveolae in its short retirugose ornamentation.
