Original description: [He Chengquan et al., 1984b] (translated from Chinese with Google):

Bosedinia retirugosa (sp. nov.)
(Plate VIII, Figures 1-4)

Description: Rounded to nearly ovate in outline. The tail is smooth, sometimes more or less conical. The shell wall is thin and single-layered; the surface is a fine reticulate to finely wrinkled network, with regular or irregular meshes ranging in size from 1×2 to 2×3 microns, low ridges, and a finely serrated outline. The palate is quite large, located at or near the widest point of the shell, and may be subapical to epiphyseal; its margins are nearly straight, with some specimens appearing to have a certain angle. A "V"-shaped fissure is visible on either side of the palate; the palate is connected. Folded.

Shell diameter 50-72.5 μm; holotype diameter 55 μm.

Origin: Guangxi Shangsi, the first and second members of the Yongning Group, with small quantities.
