Klement, 1961, suggested that this species is assignable to Deflandrea Eisenack, 1938, but did not effect a formal transfer.

Description:
Overall shape of shell slimmer than in Bulbodinium seitzi and with stronger bulges in outline. Sides with pairs of lateral horns. Weak indication of a narrow longitudinal furrow. Apex pointed, antapex sharpened and ending in a lateral displaced horn-like protrusion.
Dimensions:
Holotype - 135:60 µm, paratype - 135:65 µm.
