Description:
Shell spherical, thin-walled, with numerous stiff radial appendages of near equal size, the finer secondary or tertiary bifurcations of which form the enclosing network. The type, the subdivision of the radial appendages may form, by their union, small polygonal or irregularly shaped meshed to the wall of which, at their angles, the threads of the enclosing network are attached.
Dimensions:
Holotype: Overall-diameter ca. 70 µm; shell 38 µm.
Paratype: Over-al diameter ca. 78 µm; sell 35 µm.
Remarks:
C. densiradiata can be distinguished from other species of Cannosphaeropsis by the large number of primary appendages relative to its size, these being even more numerous in the paratype (pl. 4, fig. 7) than in the holotype. It is distinct in this respect and in the absence of spinules from C. apiculate Cookson & Eisenack (1960b), which occurs in Tithonian deposits in north-western Australia and in Neocomian deposits in Papua New Guinea
