Cribroperidinium diaphane (Cookson and Eisenack, 1958) Stover and Evitt, 1978
Originally Gonyaulax, subsequently Gonyaulacysta, thirdly Cribroperidinium.
Tax. jr. synonym of Cribroperidinium muderongense (Cookson and Eisenack, 1958) Davey, 1969, according to Backhouse, 1988.

Locus typicus: Perth Metropolitan Area, Australia
Stratum typicum: Aptian
Original description: Cookson and Eisenack, 1958, p. 36-37: Gonyaulax diaphanis
Shell ovoid, epitheca smaller than hypotheca with a straight, stiff horn. Girdle helicoid. Both the plates and the girdle are bordered by spiny ledges, those around the apical plate appear to lie obliquely to it. The longitudinal furrow narrows towards the epitheca, and in it the pore for the exit of the flagellum can be seen. The arrangement of the plates is shown in fig.10, those on the dorsal surface of the hypotheca are not clear enough for representation.
