Cribroperidinium forulatum
Cribroperidinium? forulatum (Yu Jingxian, 1982) Lentin and Williams, 1985
Originally Gonyaulacysta, subsequently (and now) Cribroperidinium?.
At the time of the transfer, Lentin and Williams, 1985, provisionally included this species in Cribroperidinium.
Holotype: Yu Jingxian, 1982, pl.2, fig.8
Age: Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous
Gonyaulacysta forulata
Description: Proximate cysts, broadly elliptical to tripodal. Periphragm and endophragm, generally closely appressed. Surface has punctate ornamentation. Apical horn in shape of long club, hollow in centre, fully rounded at end. Parasuture low and flat; distal end somewhat bluntly dentate. Paratabulation identical to that of genotype. Precingular archeopyle, in shape of small irregular quadrilateral. Paracingulum narrow, helical, decorated on edges with stout ridges. Paracingulum 4 Ám wide, shallow-bottomed. Epicyst subtriangular. Hypocyst trapezoidal.
Size: Cysts 95 - 108 Ám in total length and 68 - 82.8 Ám wide.
Comparison: With its long apical horn, narrow paracingulum and small Precingular archeopyle, this new species can be distinguished from G. strigosa.
