Chlamydophorella wallala
Chlamydophorella wallala, Cookson and Eisenack, 1960
Holotype: Cookson and Eisenack, 1960, pl.38, fig.13
Locus typicus: Canning Basin, Western Australia
Stratum typicum: Oxfordian-Early Kimmeridgian
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Cookson and Eisenack, 1960, p. 255]:
Description:
Shell approximately cylindrical in outline with rounded ends, covered with numerous short, bifurcate processes which support a delicate external membrane; on one surface the processes tend to be linearly arranged especially in the equatorial region. An apical process is not developed; the shell opens by the detachment of the wall of one end.
Dimensions:
holotype - shell 57 µm long, 40 µm broad; overall 67-50 µm.
Paratype 52x38 µm, overall 57x43 µm.
Overall range 57-81x38-62 µm.
Affinities:
C. wallala is distinct from the type species C. nyei Cookson and Eisenack, in its elongate form and in the absence of an apical projection.
