Chytroeisphaeridia pocockii, Sarjeant, 1968
Now Escharisphaeridia. Originally Chytroeisphaeridia, subsequently Lithodinia, thirdly (and now) Escharisphaeridia.

Locality and horizon: Marnes de Dives, foreshore exposure (L. lamberti Zone), Falaise des Vaches Noires, Villers-sur-Mer.
Age: Late Callovian

Diagnosis:
A species of Chytroeisphaeridia characterised by the possession of a pronouncedly granular surface.
Dimensions:
Holotype: length (apex lacking) 45 µm, breadth 55 µm.
Range: length (apices lacking) 38-45 µm, breadth 50-55 µm.
Remarks:
Similar specimens, albeit somewhat larger, have been recorded from the upper part of the S. calloviense Zone (Lower Callovian) of Bavent, Normandy (Sarjeant, 1965); they have also been noted in Canadian Upper Jurassic assemblages by Stanley A.J. Pocock, in an unpublished report courteously communicated to the author.
