Cleistosphaeridium spiralisetum
Cleistosphaeridium spiralisetum, (de Wit, 1943, p.383; text-figs.2,11), Islam, 1993, p.87.
Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Baltisphaeridium, thirdly (and now) Cleistosphaeridium.
Stover and Evitt, 1978, considered this to be a problematical species of Cleistosphaeridium.
This combination was not validly published in Davey et al., 1966, since these authors did not fully reference the basionym.
Davey et al., 1966, questionably included this species in Cleistosphaeridium.
Holotype: de Wit, 1943; text-figs.2,11, lost according to R. de Wit (personal communication to GLW).
Age: Late Cretaceous.
