Conicoidium granulatum
Conicoidium granulatum, He Chengquan, 1984; emend. Xu Jinli and Mao Shaozhi, 1989
Taxonomic senior synonym: Parabohaidina granulata, according to Sun Xuekun (1994, p.82) - however, He Chengquan et al. (2009, p.454) retained this species separately.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1984, pl.2, fig.26
Age: Tertiary.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emended description:
Xu Jinli and Mao Shaozhi, 1989: (Provisional translation by GSC: courtesy R. Fensome):
Description:
Cyst broad conical to ovoid with a short and rounded apical extension.
Epitract subcircular, much larger than the hypotract, which is poorly developed or just a narrow piece extended from the equator. 1-2 girdle folds generally developed, when two present, each one on each dorsal and ventral side. Girdle projection absent.
Wall thin, autophragm, its surface ornamented with granules of about 0.5 µm across, resulting in the fine wavy outline.
Accessory sutures separated the apical and intercalary series as well as the individual plate of intercalary series indicate the combination archeopyle of tAa+3Ia type. Four pieces of opercula attached to the cyst and kept in situ.
Dimensions:
Cyst medium in size, 35.5 - 45.5 µm long and 35.7 - 45.5 µm wide.
Affinities:
The present described specimens are very similar to the holotype from the Second Member of Yuning Group, Shangsi County, Guangxi province (middle Miocene) except for the archeopyle developed here.
