Glaphyrocysta texta
Glaphyrocysta texta (Bujak, 1976, p.110, pl.3, figs.6-11; text-figs.3G-H) Stover and Evitt, 1978, p.50.
Originally Cyclonephelium, subsequently (and now) Glaphyrocysta.
Holotype: Bujak, 1976, pl.3, fig.7; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.34, figs.2-3.
Age: Mid Eocene (see Aubry, 1986).
Original description: Bujak, 1976, p. 110 for Cyclonephelium textum
Central body dorsoventrally compressed, outline subcircular to subquadrate.
Autophragm granulate or reticulate on middorsal and midventral areas, elsewhere scabrate to granulate. Processes fibrous, solid, arranged in arcuate or linear complexes on cingular zone, elsewhere in annulate or soleate complexes. Up to seven processes in each complex. Each complex united distally by interwoven trabeculae or fenestrate membranes. Adjacent platforms usually joined by trabeculae. Reflected process complex tabulaion 4", 5", xc, 5""", 1p, 1""""; plate areas 6", 6""", anterior sulcal area, and middorsal and midventral areas without process complexes. Plate areas 3" and 3""" sometimes with single processes rather than process complexes. Archeopyle apical, tetratabular. Operculum simple and typically detached; rarely attached by trabeculate connection. Short, accessory archeopyle sutures often partially defining six precingular plate areas, and an anterior sulcal plate area offset to the left on the ventral surface.
