Impletosphaeridium sp. i of manum 1976
Impletosphaeridium sp. I of Manum, 1976
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Genus: Impletospaeridium Morgenroth, 1966; emend. Islam, 1993
tax. sr. synonym of Ciliosphaeridium Grigorovich, 1971, according to Stover and Evitt, 1978
Type species: Impletospaeridium transfodum Morgenroth, 1966
Translation Morgenroth, 1966: LPP
Original description: Morgenroth, 1966, p. 32
Hystrichosphaerids with round, sometimes ellipsoidal, smooth or weakly granulated capsule, which is covered by nearly simular, massiv processes. The processes can be distally simply pointed, goblet-shaped widened or variously furcated. The struktureless processes somtimes consist of small holes.
Emended diagnosis: Islam, 1993, p.84-85
Spherical to subspherical and ellipsoidal, skolochorate dinoflagellate cysts, mono or biphragmal, phragma weakly granulate or psilate, possessing numerous nontabular solid processes that are slender, round in crosssection or platy, basally slightly broader, distally simple, acuminate, or variously expanded such as in calyxes or spatula, or branched or otherwise ramified, but are largely similar on individual specimens; archeopyle apical, type tA or (tA), operculum free or adanate; other tabular features absent but groups of processes, or their alignment may indicate a partial tabulation including cingulum and sulcus.
