Eisenackia scrobiculata

From Fensome et al., 2019:
Eisenackia scrobiculata Morgenroth, 1966a, p.12–13, pl.2, fig.12; pl.3, fig.1. Holotype: Morgenroth, 1966a, pl.2, fig.12.
Originally Eisenackia, subsequently (and now) Eisenackia?. Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978,
p.43) as a problematic species. Age: Early Eocene.

Original description: [Morgenroth, 1966a] (translated from German):

Eisenackia scrobiculata n. sp.
Pl. 2 Fig. 12; Pl. 3 Fig. 1

Derivatio nominis: scrobiculus lat.: The pit (cf. the funnel-shaped indentations on the capsule surface).
Holotype: The specimen preserved in specimen H 103 and illustrated in Pl. 2 Fig. 12.
Paratypoids: H 100, H 102, H 104, H 106.
Locus typicus: Fehmarn, Katharinenhof.
Stratum typicum: Lower Eocene (?2).
Diagnosis: A species of the genus Eisenackia DEFLANDRE & COOKSON with the following tabulation scheme: 3', 6", 6g, 6"', 2p, 1"". Plates separated from each other by sutures. Surface covered with shallow funnels.
Description: The process-free, spherical theca has a relatively thin, weakly granulated wall covered with shallow, funnel-shaped depressions. The plates are separated from each other by simple, narrow sutures. The apical pole is covered with three plates, 1' of which lies in extension of the longitudinal groove. The elongated plates 2' and 3' are approximately equal to each other and end above the
pre-equatorial plate 3". Above the girdle band are six trapezoidal pre-equatorial plates.
The almost circular girdle band consists of six elongated, narrow plates. The hypothecation
begins with six post-equatorial plates arranged as in Eisenackia crassitabulata DEFLANDRE & COOKSON. Two intercalary plates are located in the same position as in Eisellackia crassitabulata. The
wide longitudinal groove is not depressed. The antapical pole is formed by a pentagonal antapical plate.
Note: A pyloma was not observed, but in three specimens, the 3" plate is partially broken away.
Dimensions: Specimen Ø 49μ (45μ/53μ) (14 measurements). Number of specimens examined: 17.
