G.L. Williams short notes on species, Mesozoic-Cenozoic dinocyst course, Urbino, Italy, May 17-22, 1999 - LPP VIEWER CD-ROM 99.5.
Pentadinium goniferum Edwards, 1982. According to Edwards (1982), Pentadinium goniferum is a species of Pentadinium with a coarsely granular to vermiculate surface and tricornered gonal processes. The processes are typically blunt-tipped. In some specimens they are flared slightly at the distal ends. Length of processes is 7-17 µm. Height of parasutural folds also show considerable variation. Small denticles may occur at the paracingulum. Near the top of the range of P.goniferum, the gonal processes tend to unite with the parasutural folds and the forms become transitional with P.membranaceum. Paratabulation is 3-4', 5-6", ?5c, 5-6"’, 1p, 1"”,s, but may be incompletely developed. Size: diameter 61-104 µm, endocyst diameter 50-75 µm.

Original diagnosis: Edwards, 1982, p. 113
A species of Pentadinium with a coarsely granular to vermicular surface and tricornered gonal processes.
Original description: Edwards, 1982, p. 113
Cysts subspherical, skolochorate, with granular to vermiculate endophragm; periphragm appressed or, more likely, absent in paraplate interiors, smooth and separated from endophragm at parasutural folds and gonal processes; paratabulation gonyaulacacean 3-4', 5-6", ?5c, 5-6 ''', 1 p, 1'''', s, but may be incompletely developed; archeopyle precingular, type P (3 " only), operculum free.
Dimensions:
Diameter of entire specimen, average 86 µm (range 61-104 µm); diameter of endocyst, average 62 µm (range 50-75 µm); 30 specimens measured
holotype, entire 94 µm, endocyst 67 µm.
