Wetzeliella glabra var. granulata
Wetzeliella glabra var. granulata Wilson, 1967
Now Dracodinium granulatum. Originally Wetzeliella subgenus Rhombodinium glabra var. granulata, subsequently Rhombodinium glabrum ssp. granulatum, thirdly (and now) Dracodinium granulatum.
Holotype: Wilson, 1967, fig.30
Age: Late Eocene
Original description (Wilson, 1976c)
Holotype: Slide SI36/841/SM971. 39.0X117.2. M39(0); film 169/4; Fig. 30.
Type locality: Rakis Table. Oamaru; Raki Siltstone. Kaiatan(Upper Eocene).
Description: A variety of W. (Rh.) glabra with a coarsely granular periphragm. Granules sometimes aligned in rows indicating possible tabulation.
Dimensions: Holotype: 1=129µ.. b=118µ. capsule 83p.X83µ. apical horn 16µ. l. ant. h. 14 µ.. r. ant. h. 22 µ. lat. h. 14 µ. Another specimen (S 136/841/13. 32.4 X 1I7.0): 1= 121 µ. b = 110 µ. capsule 69 µ. X 69 µ. ap. h. 14 /l. l. ant. h. 8 µ. r. ant. h. 22 µ. lat. h. 14 µ.
Occurence: Known only from the type locality (sample S l36/841) where it is associated with W. (Rh.) glabra and W. (W.) tabulata. In a count of 30 specimens of W. (Rh.) glabra only three belonged to the new variety.
Name derivation: Latin. granulatus. granulated.
