Cavate cyst, spindle in shape, biconical or pentagonal. Periphragm thin, divided equally into epitract and hypotract by a cingulum, extending apically, forming an apical and an antapical well developed horn, third completely absent or present as slight projection. Surface granuloscabrate. Capsule circular, endophragm smooth, pericoel complete around capsule. Archaeopyle absent.

Comparison: S. scabrata sp. nov. differs from the type species in its latger size distinct pericoel and granuloscabrate periphragm surface.

Remarks: The difference in endophragm thickness seen in some specimen may be the result of preservation.
