Pterodinium cingulatum ssp. danicum
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Pterodinium cingulatum ssp. danicum Jan du Chêne, 1988, p.163–164, pl.19, figs.7–13; text-figs.6A–B. Holotype: Jan du Chêne, 1988, pl.19, figs.7–9. Age: Danian.

Original description: [Jan du Chêne, 1988] (translated from French):
Pterodinium cingulatum subsp. danicum subsp. nov.
Plate 19, fig. 7-13; Text-fig. 6
Holotype
Ma2-3 specimen from the Lower Paleocene of the Coupe des Madeleines, near Dakar, Senegal. Slide 2-3/14, held in the collections of Esso Production Research-European, 33321 Bègles, France. Pl. 19, fig. 7-9.
Description
Dinoflagellate cyst with a polygonal ambitus, surmounted by a short apical protuberance. The wall is composed of a thin, smooth to scabrous endophragm and periphragm, closely joined except beneath the parasutural septa formed by the periphragm alone. These septa are relatively low, with a smooth, slightly depressed crest. They underline a gonyaulacoid-type paratabulation with the formula: ?pr, 3-4', 6", 6c, xs, 6"', 1p, 1"". The 6" paraplate is typically subtriangular. The parasulcus does not appear to be subdivided. The archeopyl is precingular, of type P (3"); the operculum is free.
Dimensions
Holotype
Length of central body: 40 µm
Equatorial diameter of central body: 40 µm
Height of parasutural septa: 2 µm
Other specimens
Length of central body: 36-40 µm
Equatorial diameter of central body: 38-40 µm
Height of parasutural septa: up to 2-3 µm
Number of specimens measured: 5
Comparisons
This form is distinguished from other subspecies of Pterodinium cingulatum by the shorter height of its parasutural septa. It was previously illustrated by Thomson & Heilmann-Clausen (1985, p. 359; pl. 6, fig. 4-6) as Impagidinium sp. 1.
