Spiniferites multibrevis ssp. seghiris

Spiniferites multibrevis ssp. seghiris Below, 1982

Now Spiniferites seghiris. Originally Spiniferites multibreui.s ssp. seghiris, subsequently (and now) Spiniferites seghiris.

Holotype: Below, 1982, pl.8, figs.4a-b
Age: Late Hauterivian

Original description (Below, 1982)
Diagnosis: A subspecies of Spiniferites multibrevis (Davey and Williams, 1966) stat. nov. with particularly weakly furcaten processes, which are very short at 1/4 to 1/6 of the central body diameter. The gonal processes, ending simply or bifid to slightly bi- or trifurcate, are no longer than the parasutural processes. Of these, two or three stand on a paraplate boundary. They have broad bases that unite to form the septum, they taper distally at first rapidly, then continuously, and end bluntly bifid or bifurcate.

Measurements: holotype: length of central body 51 µm, width of central body 55 µm, length of processes 5-7 µm;
other specimens: length of central body 48-55 µm, width of central body 45-52 µm, length of processes 4-8 µm
