Original description Yu Jingxian and Zhang Wangping, 1980 [translation Suning Hou 2025]:

Odontochitina annulata sp. nov.
Holotype: Slide number W3-9B, Plate III, Figure 10.
Description: The cyst measures 75-112.5 µm in length (excluding the apical horn), with the holotype measuring 112.5 µm in length, and 46-72.8 µm in width, with the holotype width being 72.8 µm. The antapical horn measures 45-87.5 µm in length, with the holotype measuring 87.5 µm. The cyst is dorsoventrally flattened and has a nearly rectangular body. The apical horn is absent. The antapical horns are unequal in width; one is short and broad, extending directly from the body’s end, while the other is narrow, extending from the opposite end with a pointed tip. The narrow antapical horn has 2-3 rings. Archeopyle type is apical. The suture line is irregular.
Comparison: The new species has a nearly rectangular body contour and small antapical horns with 2-3 rings, distinguishing it from other species in the genus.
Stratigraphy: Upper part of the Uytak-Kukbay Formation. 乌依塔克一库克拜组上部
