Meiourogonyaulax ghermanii Beju, 1971

Originally (and now) Meiourogonyaulax, subsequently Lithodinia. This species is here retained in Meiourogonyaulax following the retention of the genus by Riding and Helby (2001d, p.81,83).

Shell coup-shaped, archaeopyle formed by loss of the apex. Tabulation: ?, 6", 6c, 6""", 1p, 1pv, 1"""". Plate boundaries marked by low ridges or partially by very low membraneous crests. Shell wall punctate to finely granular. Cingulum relatively broad, sulcus extending from the archaeopyle margin shortly onto the hypotract .

The apex was lacking in all the specimens found. The six precingular plates are trapezoidal and almost equal in size. Six elongated cingular plates are present, 4 to 8 µ wide. Plate 1""" is triangular and smaller than the other postcingular plates which are almost trapezoidal as well as lpv, plate lp narrower and elongated. Antapex formed by a single subcircular to rectangular plate outlined by higher crests. Shell wall 1-1.5 µm thick. Sutural ridges 1 to 3 µm high.
Dimensions: Overall length: 56-82 µm, overall width: 54-70 µm.
