Membranilarnacia tenera
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Membranilarnacia? tenera de Coninck, 1975, p.93–94, pl.17, figs.2–3. Holotype: de Coninck, 1975, pl.17, fig.2; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.54, fig.6. Originally Membranilarnacia, subsequently (and now) Membranilarnacia?. Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978, p.64). Age: Ypresian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description (De Coninck, 1975):
Membranilarnacia tenera nov. sp. (PI.XVII, fig. 2, 3)
Holotype: Kallo - 259 m. Preparation 2; coord. 48.7 - 125.5. PI.XVII, fig. 2.
Diagnosis: A globose shell bears fine processes whose length reaches 1/3 to 1/2 of the shell diameter. These processes bear a very thin membrane that envelops the shell.
Dimensions of the central body: approximately 16 to 12 µm by 13 to 10 µm.
Height of the processes: approximately 5 µm.
Total wingspan: approximately 28 to 25 µm by 26 to 20 µm.
Remarks: The species differs from M. minute DE CONINCK, 1966 by its larger dimensions and its finer, longer and fewer processes. The external membrane of the individuals is always torn.
