Spiniferites? speciosus (Deflandre, 1937b, p.65, pl.11 [also labelled pl.8], fig.2) Sarjeant, 1970, p.77. Holotype: Deflandre, 1937b, pl.11 (also labelled pl.8), fig.2. Originally Hystrichosphaera, subsequently Spiniferites, thirdly (and now) Spiniferites?. Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978, p.191). Age: Late Cretaceous.
