Same as for the genus with the following additional description. The cyst wall of this species is characteristically covered with slender spines or setae, some of which tend to be slightly swollen apically. This ornamentation is generally dispersed at random over the entire cyst wall, but some spines or setae do appear to be aligned with the sutural tabulation pattern. The basic cyst wall surface bearing this ornamentation is smooth.
Dimensions: Holotype: over-all length 42 µm, over-all width 36 µm, transverse furrow width approximately 10-12 µm.
