Scriniocassis dictyotum ssp. papillatum (Gitmez, 1970) Lentin and Williams, 1975

NOW Scriniodinium dictyotum subsp. papillatum. Originally (and now) Scriniodinium dictyotum subsp. papillatum, subsequently Scriniocassis dictyotus subsp. papillatus, thirdly Scriniocassis papillatus, fourthly Aldorfia dictyota subsp. papillata.

Holotype: Gitmez, 1970, pl.9, fig.11
Locus typicus: Clay from 20 ft. above the Ringstead Coral Bed, west of Osmington Mills, Dorset (OM 420), England
Stratum typicum: Early Kimmeridgian

Original diagnosis: Gitmez, 1970, p.311: Scriniodinium dictyotum ssp. papillatum
Scriniodinium dictyotum characterized by its blunt, mamelonshaped apical prominence. The endophragm has the same shape as the periphragm.
Dimensions: Holotype: overall length 88 µm, breadth 70 µm. Range (2 specimens measured): overall length 86-90 µm, breadth 65-85 µm.

The shell is broadly ovoidal in shape, terminating in a mamelon form. The surface of the periphragm is irregularly reticulate.
