Pluravalium osmingtonense ssp. rostratum (Wiggins, 1975) Stover and Evitt, 1978
Originally Pareodinia osmingtonensis ssp. rostrata, subsequently (and now) Pluriarvalium osmingtonense ssp. rostratum.
Holotype: Wiggins, 1975, pl.5, fig.1
Paratype: Wiggins, 1975
Locus typicus: Ipewik Group, SOCAL outcrop locality 26334, arctic North Slope, Alaska
Stratum typicum: Late Jurassic
Original diagnosis: Wiggins, 1975, p. 106-107: Pareodinia osmingtonensis ssp. rostrata
Same as for the species with the following additional description. The main cyst body of this subspecies is obviously very robust as evidenced by the numerous collapse folds. This feature, along with an extremely elongate, tapering apical horn establishes the subspecies. An apicular structure is present in the form of a rounded thickening.
Dimensions. Holotype, 27 x 83 µm, paratype 40 x 95 µm.
