Lejeunecysta globosa
Lejeunecysta globosa Biffi and Grignani, 1983
Holotype: Biffi and Grignani, 1983, pl. 2, fig. 6
Paratypes: Biffi and Grignani, 1983, pl. 2, fig. 7, 10
Locus typicus: Niger Delta, Nigeria
Stratum typicum: Oligocene
Original description: Biffi and Grignani, 1983, p. 132-133.
Diagnosis: Autocyst proximate, peridinioid, compressed dorsoventrally, with rounded pentagonal ambitus. Cyst length and breadth approximately equal. Epicyst conical, with convex sides and rounded apex. Hypocyst trapezoidal. Antapical horns represented by two rounded protrusions. Antapical depression almost nonexistent. Autophragm smooth, slightly punctate. Paracingulum continuous, marked by transverse folds. Hexa archeopyle formed by loss of intercalary 2a, symmetrically situated on middorsal line, extending almost to paracingulum.
Dimensions: Holotype: autocyst length 68 Ám, breadth 67 Ám. Other specimens: length 60-80 Ám, breadth 60-85 Ám. 10 specimens measured.
Affinities:
Biffi and Grignani, 1983, p. 132: Lejeunecysta globosa is characterized by its rounded entagonal ambitus, by having two antapical protrusions rather than two developed antapical horns, and does not resemble any other described species.
