Dapsilidinium? caminuspinum (Wall, 1965) Lentin and Williams, 1981

Now Beaumontella?. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently Polysphaeridium?, thirdly Dapsilidinium?, fourthly (and now) Beaumontella?.
Tax. sr. synonym of Cleistosphaeridium mojsisovicsii Morbey, 1975, according to Below, 1987.
At the time of the transfer, Lentin and Williams, 1981, questionably included this species in Dapsilidinium.

Hystrichosphaeridium caminuspinum Wall, new species Plate 9, figure 4. Holotype: Ll/6/2,ShaIes-with-Beef (bed 74 of Lang, 1923, C. turneri Zone), The Spittles, east of Lyme Regis, Dorset. Diagnosis: Test spherical or weakly polygonal, thin-walled and smooth. Spines hollow, normally equal in length to the test radius, tapering to a narrow distal part with a thickened rim and small aperture. Between 20 and 30 spines are present. Description: The processes are characterized by their thickened distal extremities which project laterally for 0.5 μ beyond the edges of the spines. Rarely, the tips are divided. The spine bases are relatively wide (2 μ - across), a nd the cavity of the spines is continiuous with the cell lumen. Dimensions: Test diameter 16-20 μ, spine length 9-11 μ; holotype test 18 μ, spines 10 μ, (6 specimens measured). Occurrence: Shales-with-Beef (C. turneri Zone), Dorset. Comparisons: Micrhystridium clavatispinum n. sp. is similar in general appearance but has closed, bulbous spine tips.
