Hystrichodinium furcatum Alberti, 1961, has long, slender processes which branch once distally. The processes are most abundant at the poles and on the cingulum Size: holotype, length 54 µm, width 51 µm, processes between 25-28 µm.

Comments: Nohr-Hansen 1993, p. 73
The relatively few specimens recorded in the present study differ slightly in body shape from the type material described by Alberti 1961 and the processes are significantly longer than on the holotype. Also the distal furcation of the processes have shorter branches.
